BATCH FILE IMPORT:
This has been a constant requested feature. You just upload all your XML and CSV files to the "File" folder on the
FTP. Make sure you upload the league file there as well. Once all the files are uploaded. You can now log onto the website, go to the upload page and click the "Import all files" button and it will automatically go through all the files and import them. When you create a new season, you will have to import them all one at a time first, but after you've imported them manually, then you can always use the batch button.
CONTRACT EXTENSIONS:
A new way of doing free agency with a primitive A.I. got me thinking about the implementing it into the contract extensions. It has the 3 trys to sign an extension and if you fail, he goes to free agency.
• The initial page shows you what the agent is asking for based on the years and no trade Claus.
• Then you can start to bargain with him with the last drop down box. You're trying to drop the salary.
• Then when you click "send offer", the artificial intelligence kicks in.
How it works:
• It gives you 3 tries. After the 3rd try, the player will end talks with you and will want to test the free agent waters.
• Each time you fail, it gets a little harder the next time to sign him.
• There will always be a chance that the player rejects the offer even though you said you will give him 100% of what the agent is asking for
• He will make you wait 24 hours between contract extension offers. Make you sweat and think about that player’s future with you.
one thing I thought that could be cool is lets say the agent is asking too much money, you can try to drop the cost in the negotiations. it will make it harder to sign the player based on the type of discount you want him to take.
• It will be harder to get a discount on the player as the year goes on. See the chart below
- September 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 100% offers will be available
- December 80%, 90%, 100% offers will be available
- March (Trade deadline) 90%, 100% offers will be available
- April (Playoffs) only 100% offers will be available
You can only fail 3 times. If you trade a player to team B and then team B trades him back to you, you still cannot send any more offers. It will be impossible to reset the contract extension tracker.
If the player that refuses to sign with you is a RFA, he can go to free agency and you can choose to match the offer. If you do, he will have to play for you, but you may have to accept what the other teams are offering or accept the draft picks as compensation. If no team places a claim on them, then you go to arbetration.
FREE AGENCY:
Free agency is programmed to work differently this season. Last year was like Ebay. You could see all the offers and as soon as someone through a new offer in, we all got emails notifying us. Then the player selected the offer with the highest amounts of dollars in it. So we did get the 9 million dollar offers just to get the garenteed win.
This year, its programmed to be secret offers. Not even the administrators can see the offer. And, the player will not nessesarly select the highest offer.
Its broken up into 3 tabs. Tab one is a complete list of players with no contract offers. Tab 2 is a list of players that have offers The player will accept offers for 24 hours from the last offer. If he gets none, he will move to tab 3. Tab 3 is the players that narrowed down the list of offers to a maximum of 3 teams. He will take 24 hours to allow the final 3 teams to adjust their offers. They can't reduce them. Then he will make his decision. Highest price will give you the advantage, but the player could decide to take a pay cut to play somewheres else. The commishioner/administrator has to click the link to move the player from one tab to another.. this step is not automated.

NEW NAVIGATION MENU:
It was getting buggy with the new releases of Firefox, Safari and the new Explorer. So I dropped the old navigation for a JQuery Navigation. That effected all files on the site. So thats why I have to upgrade the entire site.
AMATURE DRAFT:
All you have to do is go to the amature draft page, create a new draft (prospect or free agent) and the commish clicks the "START DRAFT" button.. The commish just has to leave his page open. thats it. the rest takes care of itself. he can go on vacation right away if he wanted to.
Once it starts, the first team (ex. Buffalo) has to go and log into the website and go to the draft page.
He will see a "Make Selection" link beside his pick in the table.
After he clicks it, he is brought to a page with all the players listed. He just chooses his favourite player and then clicks a button.
Thats it. The chart is updated, and then an email is automatically sent to the next general manger telling them its their turn to pick with a list of up to 10 of the previous picks.
Each pick has a default time limit. I choose 10 minutes. If you don't make your selection within that 10 minute mark (can change), the draft will do one or two things.
It will automatically go and choose the player with the highest overall score for you.
Or..... You can provide a list for the draft to choose from. The draft will start at the top of you list and give you the highest rated player available. If none are found, then it gives you the highest overall. Then an email is sent to the next general manager to go make their pick.
So, you can go in and make a list for each of your draft picks now if you would like as a saftey. Then when it comes to to pick, you still have your 10 minutes to go on the site and manually pick who you want.
If the draft gets to the point were you don't know what you want, there is a "Make Next Best Player" form in the Make Selection page. So you can say give me the best left winger with a high checking score and it will automatically assign that player to you.
This makes life so muck easier for a commish trying to run a draft. no more hunting down guys, trying to sort through 30 lists of a 100 and getting hate emails because you didn't give him the right pick. etc....
